As an organization's Admin, you can sign up to purchase a phone number that is billed yearly from the time it is provisioned.
With our SMS texting service, you can send waivers directly to signees' cellphones through automatic texts. To use this service, you must purchase a custom phone number for your organization.
This service is $10/month or $50/year. Note: If you need to change your number after you purchased it, you will have to repurchase a new number. No refunds.
To purchase a phone number, go to Settings / Add ons / Add Phone Number for SMS:
- You can search for a number based on country, number (Search by digits or phrase), and how you want the number or phrase to match, and then click Search.
- On the next screen it will auto populate available phone numbers. From here, you can change country or number phrase. Once you see a number you like, Select the number and click Purchase.
- Your invoice page will show your order summary and allow you to update or change your credit card and then purchase the number.
- After the purchase is complete, your Otter Dashboard will update to show your phone number and give you access to automatic SMS.
When am I charged for a phone number?
When you pick out a number, you will be billed for it before it is added to your account. We do not offer prorated phone number billing.
Phone numbers are billed on the same day the phone number is provisioned each month, unless the day doesn’t occur every month, like the 31st. In these months, you would be billed on the last day of the month (February 28th, March 31st, April 30th, etc.) until you delete your number.
How is Automatic SMS usage charged?
After you set up a phone number through Otter, you can opt in to set up automatic SMS texting service. This service uses a preprogrammed SMS to send Signees a text with their waiver link.
When you use Automative SMS signing, the price is $.10 for each text/per person.
