To integrate WooCommerce with OtterText and start syncing customer data and orders, follow the step-by-step instructions below:
Step 1: Generate API Key in WooCommerce
- Login to your WooCommerce store.
- On the left-hand menu, navigate to WooCommerce and click Settings.
- In the Settings tab, click Advanced from the top menu.
- From the Advanced tab, click REST API on the left-hand side.
- Click the Add Key button to generate a new API key.
- Name the key: "Order" (or any preferred name).
- Assign User: Select a user with admin privileges.
- Permissions: Set to Read/Write.
- After generating the API key, copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
Step 2: Connect WooCommerce to OtterText
- In a new browser tab, log into your OtterText account.
- On the left menu, go to Apps and click on the Store tab.
- Enter the Root URL of your WooCommerce store.
- Click Connect.
Step 3: Configure Webhooks in WooCommerce
- Go back to the WooCommerce settings.
- Under REST API, click on Webhooks.
- Click Add webhook and name it as needed.
- Set the webhook delivery URL as the URL provided by OtterText (this is typically found in the OtterText app settings).
- Save the webhook.
Step 4: Data Sync and Testing
Once connected, WooCommerce will start syncing data, including all previous orders and customer details. This allows you to create segments based on order history, such as customers who have spent over a certain amount or placed a specific number of orders.

- Order Created: Triggers when a new order is created.
- Order Updated: Triggers when an order is updated.
