To integrate your BigCommerce store with Otter Text, follow these steps to ensure a seamless connection:
Step 1: Access BigCommerce Integration in Otter Text
- Log in to your Otter Text account.
- Navigate to the Apps section in your dashboard.
- Select BigCommerce from the list of available integrations.
- In the BigCommerce pop-up window, click on Store.
Step 2: Gather Store Information
To complete the integration, you'll need the following BigCommerce store details:
- Store Name
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Access Token
- Store Hash
Step 3: Generate API Credentials in BigCommerce
- Open a new tab in your browser and log in to your BigCommerce store.
- Navigate to Settings > Store Level API Tokens.
- Click on Create API Account.
Step 4: Configure API Token
- API Token Type: Select V2/V3 API Token.
- Name the API Account: For easy identification, name this account Otter Text.
- Access Levels: Choose Modify or Read-Only access for the content that needs to be selected.
- Important: For Otter Text integration, select Modify for all relevant sections, such as Checkout, Orders, Account Items, etc.
- API Path: When viewing your API token details, look for your API path. After

, you will see a five-digit number—this is your API Token.
5. Copy and Paste the following credentials from BigCommerce into the corresponding fields in Otter Text:

- Access Token
- Store Hash (found under API Path)
Step 5: Finalize the Connection
- After entering the necessary details in Otter Text, click on Connect.
- Sync Process: Note that syncing your store can take up to 24 hours. This process involves importing all previous data, enabling you to create list segmentation within Otter Text.
Step 6: Set Up Your First Automation
- After the 24-hour sync period, you can set up your first automation in Otter Text.
- Navigate to the Automations section and click on Create New Automation.
- Name your automation, then choose a starting point by selecting one of the following BigCommerce triggers:

- Abandoned Cart: Triggers when a cart is abandoned.
- Cart Created: Triggers when a new cart is created.
- Customer Address Created: Triggers when a new customer address is created.
- Customer Address Updated: Triggers when a customer address is updated.
- Customer Created: Triggers when a new customer is created.
- Customer Updated: Triggers when a customer is updated.
- Order Created: Triggers when a new order is created.
- Order Status Updated: Triggers when an order status has changed.
- Order Updated: Triggers when an order is updated.
- Product Created: Triggers when a new product is created.
- Shipment Created: Triggers when a new shipment is created.
