Homepage Navigation
- Homepage Overview: Whenever you're unsure about what to set up next, head to the homepage. Here, you'll find a guide that outlines all the basic setup steps. Clicking "Learn How" on any section will open a corresponding help article.
- Help Articles: Most help articles include videos and links to resources such as Google Play, Apple, Google Reviews, growing your subscribers, and sending text messages.
- Scheduling a Call: Before sending your first text message, we recommend scheduling a call to ensure you follow all guidelines for bulk campaigns. If you prefer not to schedule a call, you can click "Learn More" to get started on your own.
Settings
- Contact Card Setup:
- Your contact card is automatically sent every time someone subscribes, helping to reduce spam reports.
- You can customize your contact card with your texting number, address, email, website, and brand name.
- To enable this feature, go to Automated Message with Opt-In, select "Yes," customize your message, and click "Save Changes."
- Billing:
- Under Subscription, you'll see your monthly subscription fee, SMS rate, and MMS rate.
- The Payment section shows your auto-recharge settings. For example, if your account drops to $10, it will recharge to $100. These thresholds can be adjusted, and the recharge amount can go up to $2,000.
- Use the Usage Report to audit your account by selecting specific dates and generating a report.
- Check your Payment History for refill charges and subscription fees.
- Account Information:
- Ensure your general and business information is accurate.
- Submit your brand to start the 10DLC approval process.
- Complete a full audit with OtterText staff before submitting your campaign registration to avoid additional fees.
Features
- Inbox:
- Adding Customers and Sending Messages: Click the "New" tab to add a customer or send a message. Enter their details and either type a custom message or use a templated message.
- Creating Templated Messages: Go to Automation and Templates to start creating custom templates.
- Automation:
- Set up keyword auto-replies and custom keywords for opt-ins (e.g., text "memberships" to receive information about memberships).
- Refer to our full help article for detailed instructions.
- Business Hours: Set your business hours to inform customers when they can text you and set up auto-replies for after-hours messages.
- Auto Responders: Configure auto-responders for new customers added via web chat, OtterWaiver, or source opt-in lists.
Marketing
- Campaigns:
- Creating a Campaign: Go to Add a Campaign and follow the eight helpful tips to avoid getting flagged for spam.
- Warming Up a List: For new lists, start with small campaigns (e.g., sending messages to 50 subscribers) to avoid spam flags.
- Adding Images: Click the image button to upload and attach an image to your text message.
- Message Preview: See a preview of your message on the right side of the screen.
- Web Chat:
- Adding Web Chat: Integrate web chat into your website using the provided client ID and WordPress plugin or widget script for non-WordPress sites.
- Customization: Customize text, button colors, and data fields collected via web chat.
- Age Gate: If you're a shaft company, use our custom age gate to comply with 10DLC requirements by ensuring your website collects month, day, and year information.
- Reviews: Connect your Google My Business account under Apps to manage reviews.
