In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to update your contact card in OtterText, a new feature designed to help your customers easily save your business contact information on their phones.
What is a Contact Card?
A contact card is a file that you can send via text message. When the recipient clicks on it, they can save your business's contact information directly to their phone. This ensures that whenever you send text messages, they know who it's coming from.
Steps to Update Your Contact Card
-
Accessing the Contact Card:
- Navigate to the Settings section inside OtterText.
- Click on Contact Card.
-
Editing Your Contact Information:
- The contact card information is auto-generated from your business filing.
- If needed, update your business phone number, email address, website, or brand name.
-
Uploading an Image:
- Upload a square or circular image to ensure it displays correctly. Circular images fit best and avoid being cropped off.
-

- Click Save after making the necessary updates.
-
Setting Up the Automated Message:
- Scroll down to the section for setting up your automated message with opt-in.
- Use the preset text message or customize it to your preference.

- Customize the message that will accompany the contact card.
-
Saving the Automated Message:
- After customizing your message, click Save.
How It Works
When someone opts in for text communication with your business, they will automatically receive your contact card along with the customized message.
Upcoming Features
In a few days, you will be able to add links to your Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media profiles to the contact card, making it easier for your customers to find you online.
